Helen Lucille Bowman, 77, of Fairfield, Pa., died Friday, Oct. 22, 2010, at Gettysburg Hospital in Gettysburg, Pa.
Helen Lucille Bowman, of Fairfield, died October 22, 2010, in Gettysburg.

Born December 8, 1932 in Fairfield, she was the daughter of the late Merle M. and Irene (Kendall) Hurley.

Helen worked as a seamstress at Claire-Frock in Thurmont, MD, Evon-Kay clothing factory in Waynesboro, and Kenny Shoe factories in Gettysburg and Fairfield, retiring in 1991.

She loved cooking and spending time visiting with her family and friends, and she enjoyed spending time with her dog "Barney."

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 58 years, Joseph E. Bowman, and in addition to him, are a daughter, Dixie Turner and husband Richard of Emmitsburg, MD; three sisters, Phyllis Hahn of Emmitsburg, Shirley Wolfe of Smithsburg, MD, Linda Smith of Smithsburg; three brothers, Kenneth Hurley of Missouri, Ronald Hurley of Fairfield, and Jack Hurley of Waynesboro; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was predeceased by three brothers and a sister.

Interment was in Fountaindale Union Cemetery, Fairfield.
