Biography
Judith Marie Brydge Via, of Lyndhurst, has left this earth, to be with her heavenly Father.
She was preceded in death by her father, Paul R. Brydge, mother, Katherine Bell Brydge, sister, Wilda Brydge Carter Morris, and her husband, Dale Avington Via, and two brothers in law, Grayson E Tomlin and Chuck Lafferty.
She is survived by one son, Jeffrey Scott Via, two daughters, Michele Renee Jones and her husband, Jesse; and Marlana Dawn Lancaster and her husband, Benjamin; four grandchildren, Courtney Via, Joshua Giles, Dawson Jones, & Kristie Jones, one great-grandchild, Brandon Diggs Jr., two sisters, Barbara Tomlin and Patty Lafferty, one niece and three nephews.
Before her journey with cancer began, she was employed by the Augusta County School Board Office, and prior to that, by Riverheads High School. She was also employed at the Augusta Ambulance Service/AMC Transportation and was a waitress at Western Sizzlin and Lynn's Pancake House. She served many years as a volunteer at the Stuarts Draft Rescue Squad, and was also a CPR & First Aid Instructor for different area organizations. She was an active member of the Sherando-Lyndhurst Community Fund and loved helping people and showing the love she had for her Jesus. She was a member of Lynside Mennonite Church and served on many committees throughout her lifetime.
There will be a celebration of her life at 11:00 A.M., on Tuesday, October 26, 2010, at Lynside Mennonite Church, 648 Mt. Torrey Rd., Lyndhurst, VA 22952. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, with prayer by Charles Ramsey.
There will be a time to fellowship with Judy's family on Monday, October 25, 2010, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., at the church.
Judy requested that her most loved Southern Gospel group, the Gospel Ship Quartet, provide a service in song, for her home going.
Active pallbearers will be Carlton Brydge, John E. Hailey, David Kanagy, Darrell Coffey, Charles "Skippy" Lunsford, and Charles Huffman.
Family and friends are welcome to visit with her family at the home of Judy Via.
