Joined the local militia company, the Fredericksburg Grays, in 1834. Volunteered for Confederate service, Fredericksburg Grays turned into Company B, 30th Virginia July 1,1861 and Doggett was elected a Second Lieutenant.
Residence Fredericksburg VA.
Enlisted on 4/18/1862 as a Private, he mustered into "B" Co. VA 30th
Infantry.
Wounded 9/17/1862 Sharpsburg, MD.
Detached 9/5/1863 to Camp Lee for duty with prisoners.
He was transferred out on 3/14/1865; transferred into Veteran Reserve
Corps.
