George T. Buncie, Sr., 85, of Bradenville, died Wednesday, March 2, 1988, in Latrobe Area Hospital. He was born April 11, 1902, in Latrobe, a son of the late George T. and Susan Buncie. He was a member of St. Rose Roman Catholic Church, a retired United Mineworker, an honorary member of the Derry Township Volunteer Fire Department at Bradenville and a member of the Jednota Lodge. He was predeceased by his wife, Thelma A. Dias Buncie, Jan. 24, 1982; one daughter, Barbara M., Oct 8, 1986; two brothers, Paul and John, and five sisters, Nellie Quitko, Margaret Toth, Anna Sherback, Susie Horazo and Mary Lalla. Surviving are four sons, Donald E. of Latrobe RD 4, George T. of Latrobe, Roy of Jersey City, N.J. And Richard of Bradenville; two daughters, Mrs, James (Margaret) Knupp of Luxor and Evelyn Buncie of Bradenville; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and a number of neices and nephews. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 pm Thursday and 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 on pm Friday in John J. Lopatich Funeral Home Inc., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9 am Saturday in St. Rose Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Julius Stefurosky as celebrant. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
