Lula Mae Boyd, 78, resident of Route 3, Springdale, died Wednesday, August 17 in the Springdale Memorial Hospital. She was born August 11, 1887 in Madison County the daughter of James and Mary Jane Ball.
Survivors include her husband, W. H. Boyd of the home; two sons, Ray of Springdale and Earl Boyd of Fullerton, Cal., one daughter, Mrs. Mary Pennington of Fullerton; two brothers, Vernon and Willard Ball, both of Huntsville; two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Parker and Mrs. Grace Simmons, both of Thornton, Calif.; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Drakes Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Jake Drake and Rev. Claude Counts officiating. Burial was in the Drakes Creek cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home.
