Paul M. Ament, 86, of Mount Joy passed away on Monday, October 25, 2010 at the Mennonite Home, Lancaster. He was the loving husband of Betty Bell Ament for 62 years.

Paul worked for the former RCA Corporation for 34 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren for over 62 years and a 1943 graduate of the former Mount Joy High School. A veteran of World War II, Paul served in the U.S. Army as a Corporal, 390th Infantry Regiment. He was a licensed projectionist and showed movies at the former Mount Joy Movie Theater. An accomplished and very talented woodworker, Paul enjoyed watching movies, spending time at their summer home at Rehoboth Beach, and traveling with Betty throughout the U.S. and Europe. Family times were always his favorite. Paul will be missed dearly.

Born in Manor Township, he was the son of the late Roy C. and Flora Lutz Ament.

In addition to his wife, Paul is survived by a daughter, Brenda L. wife of Ray D. Shelly, Mount Joy; a grandson, Emmerich T. II, husband of Leigh Ann Buziak, Philadelphia; and a granddaughter, Heather Nicole wife of Brian Hess, Marietta; step-grandchildren, Anthony husband of Jamy Shelly, East Petersburg and Tina wife of Doug Pearson, New Bern, NC; and a sister, Betty Bell, Mount Joy.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Paul's funeral at the Sheetz Funeral Home, 16 E. Main St., Mount Joy on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow in Mount Joy Cemetery. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Saturday from 9:30 until 11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lancaster County, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
