She was born in Altoona, daughter of Sylvia (Snyder) Smith and the late Donald P. Smith. She married John H. Clifford on June 10, 1982, in Lubbock, Texas.
Surviving are her mother; her husband of 28 years; a son, Joshua and wife, Christy; two grandchildren: Logan J. and Breanna J.; two sisters: Bonita Phillips and Debbie Yingling and husband, Carl; a number of nieces and nephews; and her mother-in-law, Pat Gearhart. All are from Duncansville.
Darlene was a 1974 graduate of Hollidaysburg Area Senior High School. She was an employee of Sheetz Inc. for nine years and worked at the Sheetz Distribution Center in Claysburg. She enjoyed her family and friends, especially her grandchildren, working in her flower garden and her pets.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 29, 2010, at Sorge Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg, the Rev. Ralph W. Hamer officiating. Interment will be at Carson Valley Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) or the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society.
