Aaron S. Book, 54, of 469 Neshannock Ave. died in St. Francis Hospital at 8 p.m. yesterday following an illness.
Mr. Book was an associate professor in the English department of Slippery Rock State College and previously was an English teacher at New Castle High School.
He was born in New Castle Nov. 14, 1910 to Charles M. and Rebecca Stickle Book.
He graduated from New Castle High School, Slippery Rock State College and did advanced study at Cornell University, Vanderbilt University and Duke University.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Philip (Imogene) Gilmore of Grove City; a sister, Mrs. Irene McAuliffe of Mineola, L.I., New York; two brothers, John J. and Charley A., both of New Castle; and three grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Quinn, preceded him in death.
Friends will be received in the Robert A. Myers Home for Funerals, 208 N. Jefferson St., from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. A service will be conducted in the funeral home at 2:30 p.m. Sunday by Rev. Delbert E. Jolley. Burial will be in Savannah Cemetery.
