Ada May Ames Was born on May 22, 1921 in Los Angeles, California and passed away on October 25, 2009 in San Jose, California. Ada May came to live in San Jose in 1956 to care for her mother, Ada Ames and her great-aunt Florence Martinelli. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and its choir from 1956. She was a graduate of U.S.C. and later attended seminary at Windham House in New York City. She studied and did college work at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Ada May was on the faculty of the chemistry dept. at San Jose State from 1959-1996. Ada May is survived by her family Mindy, Gene, Corey, and Justin Shimizu, and many godchildren. A Memorial service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, 81 North Second Street, on Friday, November 6, 2009 at 7:00 PM.
