PRESTON, Idaho -- Gertie Johnson Webb, 93, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 2, at
the Franklin County Nursing Home in Preston, Idaho.

She was born June 6, 1911, in Downey, Idaho, the daughter of Carl Johan and
Anna Marie Johnsen Johnson. She attended school in Richmond, Utah, and
graduated from North Cache High School.

Gertie graduated from Utah State Agricultural College in 1932 with a degree in
home economics. She married O. Sherwin Webb in the Logan LDS Temple on Sept.
2, 1935. They operated a funeral home in Boise for five years and moved back
to Preston in 1946 where she and Sherwin owned and operated a floral and
funeral business.

She was active in the LDS Church, serving in various ward and stake positions
in the YW/MIA, Relief Society and Primary. She directed the Church Education
Week program in Preston for several years. She was an accomplished seamstress
and enjoyed other homemaking activities. She participated in literary clubs,
civic organizations and learned to paint in her later years. She was an avid
golfer and enjoyed watching sports.

She is survived by her four sons, Douglas S. (Sandra) Webb of Preston, Kimber
C. (Donna) Webb of Tucson, Ariz., Curtis G. (Kristen) Webb of Elk Ridge, Utah,
and Bracken J. (Yvonne) Webb of Idaho Falls, Idaho; 13 grandchildren; and 11
great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, O. Sherwin
Webb; and by her four siblings, Leone Bullen, Margaret Johnson, Carl Johnson
and Mildred House.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday, Feb. 7, in the Whitney 2nd
Ward Chapel with Bishop Greg Griffeth conducting. Friends may call from 6 to 8
p.m. on Sunday at Webb Funeral Home, 109 E. Oneida, Preston, and from 10:30 to
11:30 a.m. Monday at the church. Interment will be in the Richmond (Utah)
Cemetery.
