Note: Conrad Hopp's birth date on his tombstone differs from his actual birth date. He was born in Frank, Saratov, Volga, Russia but altered his birth date between 1930 and 1940 with that of his younger brother Heinrich who died but was born in the U.S.
Obituary- "Conrad HoppJr, 70, 1039 Lilac St, Longmont, longtime Johnstown-Mead area farmer, died Saturday, Nov, 13, of a heart attack.
He was born Jan 27, 1906 [should be 1905] in Loveland [should be Russia].
On Nov, 19, 1928, he married Frieda Gies at Greeley. They farmed southeast of Mead until about six years ago. A year ago they moved to Longmont.
He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church at Longmont.
Survivors include his wife, Frieda, five sons, Kenneth of Berthoud, Conrad D. and Paul D. both of Platteville, Walter of Longmont and John of Greeley; two daughters, Mrs. Fred (Sharon) Bauer and Miss Sandra Hopp, both of Greeley; a brother Henry of Denver, four sisters, Mrs. Irene Burnhardt of Longmont, Mrs. Edith Hoffman of Denver, Mrs. Virginia Hileman of Santa Rosa, Calif., and Mrs. Frieda Ball of Glendale, Ariz; 16 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
