SETH C. BYRUM
Seth Cook Byrum, son of Edmond and Lucy Cook Byrum, was born on Feb. 5, 1872 at Ottumwa, Iowa, and passed away at the Yocom hospital in Chariton on Sept. 10, 1956 at the age of 84 years, seven months and five days, after an illness of about ten days.
On Aug. 9, 1893 he was united in marriage to Caroline Sifer of Woodland, Ia. Their home was established on a farm near Woodland. To this union were born seven children, two dying in infancy.
After residing in several different communities in Iowa, they moved to Lucas, where they resided about 25 years.
He leaves to mourn his passing four daughters, Mrs. Lucy Hunter of Lucas, Bess Nettleton of Woodburn, Mrs. Edna Knutson of Arcardia, Calif., Mrs. Maude Eilers of St. Petersburg, Fla., one son, Claude J. Byrum of Wichita, Kans., one brother, Benjamin Byrum of Piquot Lake, Minn., eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Beardsley Funeral Home Wednesday, Sept. 12 at 2 p.m. The Rev. A. E. Beals officiating. Interment was in the Goshen cemetery.
