T/Sgt. Robert J. Keogh was killed in action when the B-17 "Flying Fortress" in which he was a crewman was shot down over France. The plane belonged to the US 8th Air Force 388th Heavy Bombardment Group, 560th Squadron, whose mission was to attack German installations in preparation for "D-Day", the Normandy Invasion which began just 4 days later. T/Sgt. Keogh, a native of Jersey City, NJ, was 21 years old at the time of his death.
