Mr. Riesterer was born February 19, 1903 in the Town of Eaton, Manitowoc County, son of the late John and Rose Anhalt Riesterer. He attended St. Gregory School and farmed in the Town of Eaton, retiring in 1963. Mr. Riesterer was also employed by the Town of Eaton. He married the former Helen Gries on May 15, 1934 at St. Isadore Church, Osman. Mr. Riesterer was a member of St. Gregory parish, former parish trustee, member of St. Gregory Holy Name Society and a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters.
Survivors include his wife, Helen; four sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Helen Riesterer of Kiel, Gerald and Cynthia Riesterer of New Holstein, Eugene and Beverlee Riesterer of St. Nazianz and Joe and Diane Riesterer of Kiel; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Sister Joann S.S.S.F. of Milwaukee, LaVerne and Jerry Fitzgerald of Manitowoc, Judy and Ron Schnell of St. Nazianz and Theresa Ann Riesterer of Milwaukee; four brothers, Anton Riesterer of Kiel, John Riesterer of Chilton, Herman Riesterer of Kiel and Stephen Riesterer of Kiel; a sister, Mrs. Angeline Schnell of St. Nazianz and 19 grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call a Christianson-Deja Funeral Home, St. Nazianz, from 5 pm to 9 pm Wednesday.
Parish prayer service will be held at 8 pm.
