Funeral for Viola Whirley Jolly, 97, of Decatur was to be today at 1 p.m. at St. James C.P. Church of America with the Rev. Theodore Bone officiating and Sharpley Funeral Home directing.
Burial was to be in Decatur City Cemetery. The body was to be at the church one hour before the service.
Mrs. Jolly died Saturday at Baptist Medical Center-Princeton in Birmingham. She was born Sept. 30, 1897, in Madison County. She was a member of the Godly Women's Board, Senior Missionary Society and the Prayer Board.
Survivors include four daughters, Lena M. Peebles of Los Angeles, Annie M. Crawford and Darlene E. Wynn, both of Decatur, and Rosie Dobbins of Birmingham; two step-sons, the Rev. Charlie Jolly Jr. of Nashville and Bishop Gable Jolly of Huntsville; four stepdaughters, Aray Tatum and Mary Frances Madry, both of Decatur, Joseph Jefferson and Annie B. Woods, both of Huntsville; and 10 grandchildren.
