Found Dead in His Auto -
Ericson Young Man dies While Enroute to his Home After a Visit with Fiance -

Charley Allard was a young man well known in Ord and a nephew of Mrs. Martha Wolf at Ericson and employed in her general store at that place. His parents are Mr. and Mrs. D. S. Allard and they live in the sand hills north and east of Ericson.

Charley was keeping company with Miss Chase of The Chase Toggery of Ord and on several occasions has driven over and taken her home to Loup city.

Last Saturday night the young people had arranged to make this trip after closing their places of business......

....He had been up late for two nights and may have gotten so sleepy that he stopped his car thinking to take a short nap. He left the engine running for it was evident that it had gotten hot and stopped from that cause after boiling the water out. Then while asleep he was overcome by the gas from the engine. The young people had complained of this trouble with his car. Of course this is surmise.....

The remains were taken to Ericson Tuesday evening where funeral services were held and later taken to Wolbach for burial.

Deceased would have been 20 years old the 16th of the coming January. He was a most likeable fellow, popular with all who knew him.
