OBITUARY :
JESSE JAMES FULTON, JR., 77, of 17718 Red Oak Drive, Hagerstown, died Sunday, July 19, 1998, at University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore.

Born Dec. 16, 1920, in Beaver Creek, he was the son of the late Jesse James Fulton Sr. and Cora E. Rudy Fulton.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn L. Rodgers Fulton, in 1967.

He attended local schools.

He was employed by Fairchild, retiring in 1987.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater.

He joined Local 842 UAW in 1941 and held various union positions, including president of Local 842 from 1961 to 1969. He served as chairman of the Fairchild P&M Unit.

He was a member of Church of the Holy Trinity.

He was a member of BPO Elks 378; Fraternal Order of Eagles 694; AMVETS Post 10; American Legion Morris Frock Post 42; and Conococheague Tribal Council 84.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Barbara Bender Fulton; two daughters, Ashley J. Fulton, at home, and Diane C. Fulton of Hagerstown; two sons, Curtis A. Fulton, at home, and Jesse J. Fulton III of Falls Church, Va.; one sister, Jane Fulton Mangione of River Bend, N.C.; one grandson; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Conrad H. Fulton.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. Elder David Roberts will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 322-324 E. Antietam St., Suite 306B, Hagerstown, Md. 21740.
