Longmont Ledger (Longmont, Boulder County, Colorado)
April 24 ,1903
ARMSTRONG--Near Longmont, Tuesday, April 21, 1903, of nervous exhaustion, Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Armstrong, aged 49 years, 10 months and 14 days.
Our community was made sad on last Tuesday morning on learning that Mrs. Elizabeth Armstrong, wife of John M. Armstrong, died at 7 a. m. April 21, 1903, of a complication of diseases. She was aged nearly fifty years. Sarah Elizabeth Rannels was born June 7, 1853 in Caldwell county, Mo. She came to Colorado with her parents in March 1854 and was married to John M. Armstrong March 12, 1874. As a result of this union four children were born to them. Her husband and three children, Harvey, Fred and Sara, still survive her. The burial place took place last Wednesday p.m. in the Longmont cemetery, Rev. Howell officiating. Mrs. Armstrong was an excellent woman. She was always ready to help those who need assistance. She was an earnest christian woman in the best sense of the term, and thus has passed away from the midst of her relatives and friends of this old settler.
