Jack Baker, 84, passed away peacefully on February 6th at 7 a.m. at Boulder Manor Care.
Jack was an avid Sportsman an athlete who ran his remodeling business, Baker Remodelers, Inc. for 50 years.
He officiated football for eight leagues including Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, Big 8, WAC, WFL, IPFL, Big Sky, 10 Division 1A Bowl Games and was one of the first nine original Officials for Arena Football.
Jack was a championship racquetball player, he won three state and three regional championships in the 50 - 55 year olds division.
He played on 11 Colorado State International softball Congress title teams, through out the summer putting fastpitch softball on the map for Colorado and putting him in the Colorado Softball Hall of Fame.
Jack is survived by his wife Mary Sue Baker, daughters Robin and (Carlos) Martinez of Orange, CA., Erin and (David) Ulrich of Boulder, Colorado, son Scott and (Cathey) Baker of Platteville, Colorado, grandchildren Erika and (Iain) McHenry of Longmont, Colorado, Chelsea Kochevar of Silverdale, WA., great grandchildren Grace and Gavin McHenry of Longmont, CO, step daughters Karie and (Sven) Hedenas of Boulder, CO and Nancy Kerner of Boulder, CO.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 10th at 2:00 p.m. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church on 3rd Avenue and Terry.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Longmont Rotary Charity Fund and sent in care of Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, 326 Terry St., Longmont, CO. 80501. Visit www.ahlbergfuneralchapel.com to share condolences.
