William "Bill" Clayton Carroll was the son of Clayton and Hester Carroll. He married Mary Jane Darby September 20, 1939 in Longmont, Boulder County, Colorado. He served in the United States Navy during World War II seeing action in the Pacific in nine major engagements. He was overseas for a total of two years. He was a member of the Red Feather Lakes Sportsmen's Club.
