Henry Allen Goad, 90, of Longmont, died April 6, 2013 at Longmont United Hospital. Henry was born on February 13, 1923 in Columbia, Iowa to Estil R. and Sylvia Eunice (Allen) Goad. Henry served in the Army during WWII and was honorably discharged in December of 1945. Henry married Helen A. Laird on August 10, 1941 and she died December 14, 1999. They moved to the Longmont area in 1953 from Pleasantville, Iowa. He married Erma M. (Rupard) Vance on June 22, 2002 in Blessings Ranch, Livermore, Colorado and she died August 7, 2010. He was an electrical engineer working as a process controller for Rocky Flats for 31 years. Henry was a member of Life Bridge Christian Church since 1958. He loved life, serving and volunteering for the greater good of all. He took special enjoyment in the accomplishments of his family. Henry was a steady worker and had an analytical mind. He was accomplished in many areas, including chemistry, physics, as a researcher and had published many reports. He enjoyed raising horses, hiking, fishing, traveling to visit friends and family and to see the beauty God created. Henry also was a voracious reader of all topics and a Bible scholar. Henry was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, American Simmental Association, the World Simmental Federation and the American Quarter Horse Association. Henry is preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Helen, son Phillip L. Goad, brother and sister-in law Lloyd C. (Loretta J.) Goad, granddaughter Jacqueline J. Vargas and second wife Erma. Henry is survived by his sons Larry D. (Sandra W.) Goad of Monument, CO. and Ronald W. (Yolonda C.) Goad of Longmont, daughter Marsha K. (Larry) Rasek of Fort Collins, CO., and brother Jerry L. (Linda) Goad of Marion, IA., 18 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild. Visitation will be 1:00 to 4:00pm Sunday, April 14 at the Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, with family present to greet friends. Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM on Monday, April 15, 2013 at Life Bridge Christian Church, with burial at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.
