Mrs. James Mars Buried Tuesday

Mrs. Ruth Therrell Mars, 54, Poplar Ave., Philadelphia died August 16 at the Neshoba County Hospital following an illness of several months. Mrs. Mars, the widow of the late James M. Mars, was a native of Leake county in the Edinburg community, but had made her home in Philadelphia most all of her life. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Therrell. A Methodist, she held membership in the First Methodist Church of Philadelphia.

Survivors include one son, Mont of Philadelphia; one daughter, Miss Martha Mars of Philadelphia; three grandchildren; one brother, Morris Therrell; and two sisters, Mrs. D. R. Burnside of Philadelphia and Mrs. Mary Graves of Gulfport.

Last rites were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 in the Philadelphia First Methodist Church. The Revs. Clay Lee and John H. Cook officiated. Interment followed in Cedarlawn. Curtis Blocker, Lemuel Williams, James McNair, Tony Dowdle, Uriah Banks, John McCauley, Jerry Withers, and Keta Mosley were pall bearers. McClain-Hays Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
