She was born near Kolberg, Pommern, Germany, which after 1945 became Kolobrzeg, Poland. Her happy childhood and youth was spent in the now vanished world of Pommern (the then northern region of Germany) by the Baltic Sea and which she brilliantly recorded for posterity in her wonderful 1989 autobiography "Das Paradies Liegt In Pommern".

She later married German actor, Lutz Schwiers and lived in Berlin. Her daughter, Ellen Schwiers, was born on June 11, 1930 at Stettin, Pommern, Germany (now Szczecin, Poland) and is an actress and her son, Holger Schwiers, born on April 13, 1947 at Marburg, Hesse, Germany is an actor. She had also a granddaughter, Katerina Jacob, born on March 1, 1958 in Munich, Germany who is an actress. Liselotte spent her later life residing with her daughter, Ellen, at Leoni, Starnberger See just southwest of Munich, Bavaria, where she died.

I wish to express my great appreciation to Edda Meinikat for her very loving sponsorship! I am sure the spirit of Liselotte must be most joyful and proud!
