ROSSVILLE, GA - Albert Basil Carder, 82, died Saturday, October 30, 2010, at his residence after a long hard battle with cancer.
He was a native of Fulton County, GA a son of the late Joseph and Mable Johnson Carder.
Mr. Carder was a Veteran of the U. S. Army and was retired from Flavor Rich Dairies after 37 years of service.
He was a member of the Mission Ridge Baptist Church where he and his wife started the Wednesday Family Night suppers. Mr. Carder and his wife, Sara, were the food coordinators for seven years with YMCA, Camp Ocoee where they served hundreds of Campers.
He was a Loving and Faithful husband and father.
Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Sara Hilderbrand Carder; sons, Albert B. Carder Jr., Tulsa, OK; Glenn W. Carder, Roswell, GA; Fred Mitchell Carder, West Minister, SC; daughters, Lesley Fay Gorley, Greenville, GA; Sara Elise Carder, Chattanooga, TN; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Ted Verville officiating.
Interment in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 Monday at the Heritage Funeral Home and Crematory, Battlefield Parkway, Ft. Oglethorpe, GA.
