JACK WILLIAM HINESLEY, 36, of Jacksonville, N.C., formerly of Memphis, master sergeant in the Marines and aircraft maintenance chief of Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 464 at MCAS New River, N.C., died Nov. 16 of injuries received in a helicopter training mission accident near Camp Lejeune, N.C. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel at Naval Support Activity Memphis with burial in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. Woodhaven Funeral Home in Millington has charge. He was a former instructor and training coordinator at NSA Memphis, and received the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy-Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy-Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal with four stars, National Defense Service Medal and the Meritorious Unit Commendation with four stars. Mr. Hinesley, the husband of Sherry Hinesley, also leaves a stepdaughter, Lisa Ward of Jacksonville, N.C.; his mother and stepfather, Margaret Ann Woods and Wayne Woods of Terre Haute, Ind.; a sister, Susan Lisher of Avon, Conn.; two brothers, Steve Hinesley of Terre Haute and Chris Hinesley of Farmersburg, Ind., and two stepbrothers, Larry Woods of Littleton, Colo., and Joe Woods of Terre Haute. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society in Jacksonville, N.C. (Published in The Commercial Appeal 11/23/1995)
