FLAGSTAFF, Ariz – Hunters in Louisiana discovered the body of a 12-year-old girl last seen alive in Arizona.
Several hunters found the body of Lexis Roberts, of Las Vegas, in a wooded area north of Harrisonburg, La., on Oct. 8.
Her identity was confirmed through dental records.
On Sept. 8, a family member told the Coconino County Sheriff's Office that Lexis and her mother, Suellen Roberts, 31, were missing after leaving Las Vegas on Sept. 4. The mother and daughter were with Roberts' co-worker and friend Thomas Steven Sanders, 51.
It is believed the three missing people visited the Williams, Flagstaff and Grand Canyon areas during the Labor Day weekend but haven't been heard from since.
Roberts and Sanders are still considered missing persons.
They were last seen traveling in a 2001 KIA Spectra with Nevada license plate 153UCR.

Skeletal remains found earlier this month in Louisiana have been identified as a 12-year-old Las Vegas girl reported missing in September.
According to the Catahoula Parish sheriff's office, authorities used dental records to identify the remains as those of Lexis Kaye Roberts, who had last been seen in Arizona with her mother, Suellen Roberts, and her mother's boyfriend, Thomas Steven Sanders, also known as "Spider."
Her remains were found by hunters just north of Harrisonburg, La., according to the sheriff's office.
The three were last seen at the Bearizona Drive-Thru Wildlife Park in Williams, Ariz., on Sept. 4, according to the Coconino County sheriff's office. Williams is about 200 miles southeast of Las Vegas and 1,400 miles west of Harrisonburg. Police initially did not know if the disappearance was criminal.
Sanders, 53, accompanied Suellen Roberts, 31, on the planned trip to Arizona. Police said Roberts and Sanders met at a storage facility in Las Vegas, where they both worked. Both are still missing.
According to records, Sanders and Roberts made cell phone calls on Sept. 5, placing them 18 miles north of Williams. All phone activity has stopped since then.
They were last seen driving Roberts' 2001 Kia Spectra with Nevada license plate 153UCR, police said.

She was born October 28, 1997, in Manchester, the daughter of Suellen E. Roberts and Damon Garrow. She lived in Manchester until she was four years old when her mother moved to Nevada.
She had just begun 7th grade at the Sylvestri Middle School in Las Vegas at the time of her death.
She was predeceased by her great grandparents, Joseph and Elizabeth Woodburn of Manchester; paternal great grandparents Richard and Margaret (Dickson) Roberts; her great aunt Leslie Roberts; and her great uncle Mark Roberts, all lifelong residents of Manchester.
She was a devoted daughter, granddaughter, niece and student. She had just begun taking viola lessons and joined the school band. She loved the I Carly television series, the color purple, and writing in her journal. She was especially fond of her little dog Chico and her cat Bob. She loved family visits to New Hampshire, the trees and the quiet of the countryside. She had hoped to one day have a country house and to bring her mother and grandmother back to New Hampshire to live. She very much loved the ocean of Hampton and visiting there with her family and best girlfriend in New Hampshire, Bizhdebah Kelly of Antrim

A visitation will be held Wednesday, July 27, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the McHugh Funeral Home, 283 Hanover St., corner of Beech St., Manchester.
A funeral ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. in the funeral home.
Burial will follow in St. Augustin Cemetery.
