Adeline Rose Jindrich, 81 of rural Swisher died Saturday, May 24, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center after a brief illness. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fairfax. Burial will be 1:30 p.m. in Czech National Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, where there will be a 4 p.m. vigil.

Adeline was born February 15, 1927 in rural Swisher, the daughter of Frank and Anna Lamparek Ludvicek. She lived there most of her life. She was united in marriage to Marvin Jindrich October 12, 1948, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fairfax, and lived on the family farm in rural Swisher with her husband for nearly 60 years until October 2007.

Survivors include her three daughters, Darla Michalec of Fairfax, Connie Miller and husband Richard of Rowley, Renae Ward and husband Tony all of Cedar Rapids, nine grandchildren: Benji Michalec and wife Stacy, Mindi and husband Cole Young, Jesse Michalec, Heidi Michalec, Angie Miller, Alicia Miller, Brandi and husband Andy Lawrance, Nicholas Ward, Shawn Ward; and two great grandchildren Lexi and Lacy Young.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Marvin in July 2007; infant daughter, son-in-law Ben Michalec, a granddaughter Amy Miller; a brother Leo Ludvicek, and a sister Lillian Rohlena.

Adeline was a devoted farm wife and in the past worked at Lawrence Press and Waconia Sorghum Company. She was a member at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Fairfax, Fairfax Senior Citizens, WFLA Lodge 400 and the Farm Bureau.

Adeline's passion in life centered on family and friends. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, frequent communications with her daughters and the many social events especially family night card club gathering with friends and neighbors. She was a loving wife, mother and friend. She enriched the lives of all that knew and loved her and will be greatly missed.

The family of Adeline wishes to express a special thank you to Dr's Vander Zee and Warren, Mercy Hospice, Home Health Nurse Chris, and all of the nursing staff at Mercy Medical Center for their care and support.
