Albert Earl Alley, 94, of Pilot Grove, passed away August 25, 2010 at Cooper County Memorial Hospital, Boonville.
Mr. Alley was born on October 1, 1915, to Albert H. and Ruth M. Mollett Alley in Blackwater, MO. He was married to Frances Shay on January 14, 1937 in Boonville, Mo., who preceded him in death, January, 2010. He was a member of the Pilot Grove Baptist Church and on the board of the Peninsula Cemetery for many, many years. He graduated from Pilot Grove High School and was a welder during his life, owned and operated Earl's welding shop in Pilot Grove for 45 years. He would always say that he could weld and fix anything but a broken heart. He enjoyed life, attended the MO?River Steam?Engine Show for over 30 years, loved to work in his yard and especially loved the Christmas season.
He is survived by one daughter - Louise King and husband Jim of Raymore, MO; one daughter in law - Betty Alley, of Boonville, MO; 3 grandsons, 3 great-grandsons; 6 great great- granddaughters; one sister- Doris Parks and husband Dale of Independence, MO; three sister in laws; Dorothy Alley, Blackwater, Mo; Dorothy McGuire and Mary Gerling of Pilot Grove. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sons, Timmy and Bobby, and three brothers, Robert, Floyd and Jimmy.
Funeral services for Mr. Alley will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 28, 2010 at the Meisenheimer Funeral Home in Pilot Grove. Burial will be in the Peninsula Cemetery, Blackwater.
Visitation will be after 3:00 p.m. Friday, August 27, 2010, with family receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday evening at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Pilot Grove FFA Chapter.
