Pembroke - Rastus Byrd Sr., 91, died Sunday morning at Bulloch Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
The native and life-long resident of Bulloch County was a retired farmer.
Survivors include one son, Rastus Byrd Jr., Pembroke; one daughter, Frances Grayson, Tybee Island; three sisters, Mamie Todd, Claxton, Anna DeLoach, Savannah, and Edith Turner, Jacksonville, Fla.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Monday at Morrison Funeral Home, with Elder Harold Burnsed officiating. Burial will be Red Hill Cemetery near Pembroke.
Pallbearers will be Cleve Freeman, Heulett Lanier, George Williams, Davis Warnell, Frederick Warnell and E. H. Lanier.
