John H. Hulcher, 73, of 1203 W. Washington St. died at 12:05 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Hospital. He fell at his home Dec. 6 and fractured his hip.

Coroner W.C. Telford said he will conduct an inquest.

Born in Virden, Mr. Hulcher has been a resident of Springfield for the past 40 years. He was a retired contractor.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret; one son, Gordon of Springfield; one daughter, Mrs. Marietta Ruzes of Springfield; three brothers, Ahler and Adolph, both of Virden and Elmer of Nilwood; one sister, Mrs. Rose Rahn of Springfield; and two grandchildren.

Remains are at the Bisch Memorial Home.
