DEATHS

GRADY E. HALE

Grady E. Hale, 71, of Route 1, Carlsbad died in a local hospital Monday, October 25, 1971. Funeral services will be conducted at the Chapel of West Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Mrs. Alber McCarty of the Emmanuel Gospel Church officiating. Burial will be in Carlsbad Cemetery.

Hale was born in Hattieville, Ark., April 8, 1900. He was reared in Arkansas and was married at Middleton, Ark., to Retta Mae Mitchell Dec. 1, 1920. Following their marriage, they moved to Morrilton, Ark., where they made their home for a few years and then moved to Dumas, Ark., where they lived until moving to Carlsbad 21 years ago.

Hale was employed in Carlsbad at the Old Mill Grocery, Clark's Grocery and Jay's Grocery. He was a butcher.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Retta Mae Hale of Carlsbad; a daughter, Mrs. Claude Estes of Carlsbad, a brother, Alfred Hale of Pottsville, Ark.; a sister Delphia Mitchell of Benton, Ark.; and five grandchildren.
