(Mapleton Press 29 July 1920) Emma Caroline Marie Mundt Reed was born in Hanover Township, Crawford County, Iowa, March 10, 1892 and died July 21, 1920, age 29 years, four months and eleven days.On February 20, 1913, she was united in marriage to Glenn Reed of Mapleton, near where they have since resided. Early in life she was baptized and later confirmed in the German Lutheran Church at the age of 16 years, in which she remained a faithful believer to the last. She was a good patient, cheerful wife and mother, ever devoted to her home and family this being one of her greatest prides of life. By her kind and gentle ways and noble traits of character she will be fondly missed by those who knew her best.She leaves to mourn her loss, a husband, Glen Reed and four children, Viola 6 years, Clifford 5, Margurette 3 and Flora 21 months. A mother, Mrs. Louise Mundt, four sisters, Mrs. H. Detlefs, Mrs. P.H. Clausen, Mrs. Theo Wolfrom, all of Ricketts, Iowa, Mrs. Arthur Jacobsen of Buffalo, Mont., two brothers, William Mundt of Ricketts and Fred Mundt of Anthon, Iowa.The funeral services were held at the Lutheran Church on Friday afternoon at 2:30 conducted by Rev. Wolfram of Soldier Township, Crawford County, and the remains laid to rest in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
