Deputy Edward Michael Schrader was hired by Riverside County Sheriff on February 20, 1973. On July 11, 1974 Deputy Schrader responded to a family disturbance and was "surprised" by the suspect who was hiding. The suspect shot Deputy Schrader and he was killed instantly.
