Mabel (Jameson) Baker, age 84, of Brookfield, died Sunday, July 5, 2009, at Pershing Memorial Hospital in Brookfield. A funeral service was held Thursday, July 9, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home in Brookfield with Rev. Rex Leppin officiating. Burial was in Park Lawn Cemetery in Brookfield. Memorials to the American Diabetes Association may be left at or mailed to Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, P.O. Box 496, Brookfield, MO 64628. Mabel Mercedes, daughter of Rolla Harvey and Mary Edith (Cattey) Bailey, was born August 29, 1924, in New Boston. She married Paul Watson who preceded her in death; on May 28, 1960, she married John A. Jameson who preceded her in death on February 8, 1977, and on August 29, 2005, she married Alva Baker who preceded her in death August 18, 2007. Mabel graduated from Brookfield High School. She had worked as Payroll Clerk and Receptionist at Brown Shoe Company until her retirement. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Brookfield. She had been a member of Business and Professional Women in Brookfield. Survivors include one daughter, Jo Lynn Jameson and wife, Amy of Harlan, Iowa; five grandchildren, Jessica Balfour of Orlando, Florida, Jordan Balfour of Omaha, Nebraska, Jared Balfour of Sioux City, Iowa, and Brion Barrett and Dylan Barrett of Harlan, Iowa; five sisters, Waverly Schmidt and Carolyn Williams and husband, Dee all of Brookfield, Lois McDannald and husband, Ronald of Seymour, Iowa, and Neva Quasa and husband, John and Ina Mae Samuelson and husband, Lyle all of Liberty; two brothers, Marvin Bailey and wife, Virginia of Kansas City and Delbert Bailey and wife, Betty of Brookfield; a sister-in-law, Lois Bailey of Laclede; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Kenneth Bailey; one sister, Arlene King; and a grandson, Jacob Balfour.
