Andy B. Hunter, 86, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010. Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home. Interment: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home. Andy was born April 2, 1924, in Rotan to Efton and Ida Hunter. He served his country with honor in the U.S. Army as a private first class in Battery B, 407th Anti-aircraft Gun Battalion. He retired from the Birdville Independent School District, where he worked in the maintenance department. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Hunter; granddaughter, Christy Chester; former wife and mother of his children, Nelda Hunter; and sisters, Arlie Anderson, Alma Lee Gillson, Ola May Urban and Ava Erwin. Survivors: Daughters, Sandra Tharp and husband, Ron, of Haslet and Jana Chester and husband, Barry of Haltom City; daughter-in-law, Judy Hunter and husband, Paul Scofield, of Aledo; sons, Danny Hunter of Springfield, Mo., and Alan Hunter and wife, Debbie, of North Richland Hills; granddaughters, Katrina Ball, Melissa Blair, Janelle Jaeger, Genesa Spencer, Bethany Stohl, Sarah Hunter, Jessica Hunter and Amy Hunter; grandsons, Shane Hunter, Andy Hunter, Logan Stohl, Daniel Hunter and Patrick Chester; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Louise Johnson of Gary; brothers, John Hunter of Boyd, Lewis Hunter of Electra and Eldon Hunter of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and many other nieces and nephews.
