SHREVEPORT, LA – Services for Mr. Earl Michael Harter, Jr., 70, will be held at Rose-Neath's Marshall Street Chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. Cannon Frank Wilson of St. Mark's Cathedral. Private graveside service will be at Forest Park.

Mr. Harter, a native of Fort Worth, Texas, died Wednesday, February 12, 1992, at his residence after a short illness. He was owner of Harter Oil Company. Mr. Harter was a graduate of Byrd High School; LSU-Baton Rouge with a degree in Petroleum Engineering and also attended Centenary College and Louisiana Tech. He was a lieutenant in the U.S. Army as a Combat Engineer and served two years in European front during WWII. He was a member of the Board of Directors of Pioneer Bank and Trust Co., Petroleum Club; Shreveport Country Club; Kappa Sigma and the Board of Directors of the First Federal Bank for Savings.

Survivors include his wife, Marilee Davis Harter of Shreveport, La.; daughter and son-in-law, Jan Harter Pipkin and husband Bubba of Shreveport, La.; three sons, David Alan Harter of Los Angeles, California, Earl Michael Harter III and wife, Mary of Shreveport, La., Steven Scott Harter of Shreveport, La.; four grandchildren, Justin, Shannon, Ryan and Lauren Harter; sister-in-law, Lynda Perry and husband, T. O. of Baton Rouge, La.

Pallbearers will be Frank Bruner, Hugh Hanson, Sinclair Kouns, Dayton Waller, George Logan, Camp Flournoy and Eugene Hillard.

Honorary pallbearers will be Board of Directors of Pioneer Bank, Dr. Neal Prather and Board of Directors of First Federal Bank for Savings.
