Ruth (Mellen) Town Thurston was the daughter of John and Ruth (Hopkins) Mellen. Josiah Town was her 1st husband. Pvt. Daniel Sylvester Thurston was her 2nd husband. They were married Montpelier, Vermont in 1846. Daniel died April 9, 1863.
