Visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, at Hodgson Funeral Home, Rock Island. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. today at the funeral home. Interment will follow at National Cemetery, Arsenal Island.
Maude was born on Oct. 17, 1919, in Odum, Ga. She married Joe Karaway.
She served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors are children, Mary Katherine Karaway, Houston, Texas, Ruth M. (Jim) Fowler, Milan, and Stan (Sandy) Karaway, Coal Valley; grandchildren, James, Jonathan and Kathryn Fowler. Her husband preceded her in death after 58 years of marriage.
