LYONS - Marie Dickerson, 79, died Oct. 19,1994, at Lyons District Hospital, Lyons.
She was born March 10, 1915, at Lyons, the daughter of Guy and Lulala Alter Miller. A lifetime Lyons resident, she was a former junior-high-school English teacher at Chase and Lyons.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Queen Esther Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Worthwhile Club, all of Lyons, and Alpha Phi and the Washburn Alumni Association.
On June 27, 1937, she married Max Dickerson at Lyons. He survives.
Other survives include: a daughter, Joan Farmer, Topeka; a sister, Eulala Mast, Kansas City, Mo.; and two grandchildren, Steve Russell, Washington, D.C., and Beverly Russell, Denver, Colo.
Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church, Lyons, with the Rev. Gary Brooks presiding. Private committal service in the Lyons Municipal Cemetery will precede the memorial service. Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. today, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 7 p.m., at Sillin Funeral Home, Lyons.
Memorials may be sent to the church or to the Center for Basic Cancer Research at Kansas State University, both in care of the funeral home.
