DR. CORNELIUS A. MC GLENNON
AGE: 88 BRICK
Dr. Cornelius A. McGlennon, 88, Sunday, died Sunday, July 11, 2010, in Brick.
He was an orthodontist and practiced in Jersey City and Hackensack for more than 50 years.
A former resident of South Orange, he graduated from Columbia High School and Rutgers University in New Brunswick. Following military service, he graduated from Georgetown University with a dental degree and from Columbia University with a degree in orthodontics. Dr. McGlennon was a member of the American Dental Association, New Jersey Dental Association and Middle Atlantic Association of Orthodontists.
A World War II veteran, Lt. McGlennon served as a B-24 Liberator pilot, flying with the North Atlantic Division of the Air Transport Command.
He also held a commercial pilot's license and was an avid artist.
Dr. McGlennon's father was the Hon. Cornelius A. McGlennon, who served New Jersey as Justice of the New Jersey Court of Errors and Appeals, member of the United States Congress representing the Eighth Congressional District of New Jersey, member of the New Jersey State Senate and Mayor of Harrison. His mother was Harriet Seton McCabe McGlennon of Harrison.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Elizabeth; two sons, Neil Jr. and Timothy; two daughters, Seton McGlennon and Nan Hewit; 10 grandchildren, Bayley, Patrick, Meghan, Rusty, Grant, Alex, CAM, Matthew, Andy and Stephen; and his sister, Harriet Connolly.
A private service will be held at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
