Artie and Coy had the following children: Florence, Paul Christopher, William Chelsea, Donald Wayne, Wilma Catherine, Ollie Veda, Melvin Dale, Russell Dean. Florence was still born in 1932. Ollie died at about 1 yr. of age.
Artie moved to Foresthill in 1943 from Arkansas with Beane Lumber Co. Later, he worked for Hughes Brothers Lumber Co. and American Forest Products. He was Secretary of the Treasury for United Wood Workers Union at the American Forest Products Lumber Mill.
Artie joined the Odd Fellows Lodge in Forest Hill in about 1952. He was a member until his death in 2008. He ran the weekly bingo games for many years.
Artie & Coy helped start the Foresthill Safety Club. They drove an ambulance to Auburn, transporting accident victims or anyone who needed emergency medical care.
Artie was an avid reader and wrote poetry.
A good, Christian man who worked hard to care for his family.
