Coy married Artie Jones on October 31, 1931 in Arkansas. After Artie took a job in the lumber industry in Foresthill, she and 5 of their children travelled by train to California to join him. Their first home was on the North side of town, near where the American Legion Hall stands. It burned and they lost most of their possessions. They then bought a house on the Foresthill-Auburn Rd. This was their home for rest of their lives.
Coy was a founding member of the Foresthill Safety Club.
She drove the ambulance to Auburn many times, transporting sick or injured people. The road was winding and dangerous, but that didn't deter her.
Coy was an active member of the Odd Fellows & Rebekahs Lodge for many years.
She was a loving mother, who was left to take care of the children while Artie was off working in the forest. She was a great cook and seamstress. Cake decorating was one of her hobbies.
Coy suffered from Diabetes, which led to heart problems and she passed away when she was just 59 yrs. of age.
The children of Artie & Coy Jones:
