Suggested edit: Hi Darlene, Anna Katherine Eberhart Buffington was my 2nd great aunt. Her brother, John Nicklas Eberhart, was my 2nd great grandfather. Their parents were John M. and Mary Ann Eberhart from Germany. The family came to the US about 1827 and settled in Pennsylvania, then Indiana, then Ohio. Anna married Jeremiah Buffington in Indiana, 1845. John N Eberhart, his brother George and families, founded the town of Allyn, WA. Some of Anna's children settled on Harstine Island. Anna and her husband were living on Harstine by 1900 and died 9 years later. Many of their family members are buried there. I have seen the Washington, Select Death Certificates, 1907-1960 that says Catherine Everhart but I believe that to be a transcription error. I hope this helps.
