She was born on Saturday, 3 October 1885 in Anderson County, South Carolina and was the daughter of William Thomas Banister and Molly Ann (Banister) Banister.
Nelia moved with her family to Hart County; Georgia when she was only a few weeks old and attended the schools of Hart County; Georgia.
She married James Arlington Milford on Sunday, 13 December 1903 and made her home at the Red Hill Community for sixty-two years.
The couple had four children:
Clarence Arlington Milford, who married Mamie Gladys South;
Alma Christine Milford, who married Albert Davis;
Lorene Milford, who married John Vandiver McGee
Billy Clayton Milford, who married Lois Sheriff.
Mrs. Milford is survived by her husband, James Arlington Milford, two daughters, Lorene (Milford) McGee, of Red Hill, Alma Christine (Milford) Davis, of Eastanollee; two sons, Clarence Arlington Milford, of Red Hill and Bill Clayton Milford, of Augusta; two sisters, Delia (Banister) Herndon, of Asheville, North Carolina, Eula (Banister) Ayers, of Hartwell; brother, Clarence Banister, of West Asheville, North Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Thomas Banister and Molly Ann (Banister) Banister.
