Graveside services for H R Jones, 82, Tyler, are scheduled for 4 p.m. Friday at Oakwood Cemetery with the Rev. Scott Wiley officiating under direction of Burks-Walker-Tippit Funeral Home, Tyler.

Mr. Jones died Oct. 8 in a Tyler hospital.

He was born June 25, 1916, in Victoria, Va., and lived in Tyler for the last 53 years. He served as a captain in the Army during World War II receiving the Silver H.B. Star for action with the 99th Infantry Division during the Battle of the Bulge. He retired from auto sales and was a member of First Baptist Church, Tyler.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, William Wood Jones.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Florence Wood Jones, Tyler; sons, Henry "Butch" Jones Jr., Tyler, and James W. Jones, Dallas; daughter Florence "Sissy" Crysup, Rusk; brother, Luthur A. Jones, Freeman, Va.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
If desired, memorials may be made to charity of choice.
