According to the death certificate, William was born on June 30, 1865 in Belfast, Ireland. He was the son of Robert Agnew and Jean Erskine, both of Ireland. He was a moulder by trade, and died of cerebral hemorrhage and lobar pneumonia. Death came at Pittsburgh's West Penn Hospital, although he lived in West Etna.
