Mary Elizabeth Ball, Everett Edwards, Jr., Rose Mary Gideon, James Leon Hackler, Edward Muriel Hartbarger, Wallace Sanders Hartbarger, Charlotte Ann Marshall, Sherry Diane Mincey, Jerry Mincey, Rickey Phillips and Max Phillips were killed in the horrible tragedy.

There were five students from Miss Bonnie Patterson's fifth grade class that were killed in the accident," Kincannon said. "Many more of my classmates were on the bus, but we lost Charlotte Marshall, Rose Mary Gideon, Wallace Hartbarger, Everett Edwards and Max Phillips."

"We were out of school for a week," Kincannon continued. "When we went back there were five empty seats. We had no counseling, no talking about it. Five of my friends were gone. There were five empty seats."
