Ronald "Ron" Marek, age 45, of Penelope, passed away early Sunday afternoon November 7, 2010 at his residence.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Cemetery in Penelope, with Msgr. Isidore Rozycki officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Ron was born on September 14, 1965 in Oakland, California, the son of Edward R. and Charlotte (Reichart) Marek. He graduated from Penelope High School in 1983 and attended Hill Junior College. Ron worked for Clayton Mobile Homes, Jack Anthony Construction Company, Dan Hil Containers, and as an independent carpenter. He enjoyed fishing, carpentry work, and spending time outdoors.

He is preceded in death by his father and a sister, Diana Beeson.

Survivors include his mother, Charlotte Marek of Penelope; two sisters, Paula Gordon of Wichita Falls and Pat Atkins and husband Dan of Penelope; nieces and nephews, Amanda, Charlene, Lorraine, Justin, and Cody; nine great nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Honorary pallbearers are Kenneth Peterson, Cody Atkins, Justin Atkins, Delton Marcott, Robin Johnston, Gordon Johnston, Tim Marek, and Tom Marek.
