'The North Loup Loyalist', North Loup, Nebraska, Friday, Oct. 18, 1918, p 5.
William H. Maxson was born at Linn, Wisconsin, November 6, 1846, and died at his home near this village Monday night, October 14, 1918, aged nearly seventy-two years.
Before coming to this place about thirty-eight years ago he lived in Minnesota. Since coming here this place has always been his home.
March 29, 1893, he was united in marriage to Miss Frances Lawton, who survives him.
Mr. Maxson had not been in his usual health for some time, yet was not confined to the house - was always able to do the work around the house. The day of his death he and his wife were guests at the Roy Lewis home in Mira Valley returning home about chore time. He complained coming home of a pain in his chest, and when he reached home laid down on a couch while his wife prepared some medicine for him - he took the medicine, seemed much better and while she was in another room he apparently tried to get up to do the evening chores and the exertion was too much for him for soon his spirit passed into the Great Beyond. Heart failure is given as the cause of his death.
Mr. Maxson was one of those jolly good natured men whom it is a joy to know - a man who lived a quiet home life - a man who was a good neighbor and a loyal friend.
Because no public gatherings can be held in the village funeral services were held at the house yesterday afternoon conducted by pastor A. L. Davis and the body was laid to rest by the side of his parents in the city of the dead west of the village.

William was the second child born to John and Mary Ann Maxson. His siblings include: Sarah A. Maxson, Russel S. Maxson, Lucian L. Maxson, Mary Arminda Maxson and Charles Maxson.
