Married Elva Oretta Stoddard, Dec. 22, 1920, Uintah; solemnized Logan LDS Temple March 4, 1953. First mayor, Uintah, 1936-19-56. Retired farmer. Former employe, Utah Power & Light, county and state road department. District representative, Democratic party. Former member, board of directors, Weber County Mosquito Abatement Director. Survivors: Widow; sons, daughters, Merlin John, Mrs. Dale (Vera) Talbot, both Ogden; Rulon Verl, Thomas Neil, both Uintah; Mrs. Joseph (Erma) Peterson, Taylor, Weber County; 13 grandchildren; brothers, sisters, Benjamin George, Salt Lake City; Gilbert, Sunset; Henry Carl, Uintah; Mrs. Harry(Ellen) Penman, Mrs. Maynard (Lucille) Rasmussen, both Ogden. Funeral Tuesday 11 a.m., Uintah LDS Ward Chapel, Friends call Linquist & Sons Colonial Chapel, Monday 7-9 p.m., at Uintah Ward Chapel one hour prior to services. Burial Uintah Cemetery.
